I just received this today and it's gorgeous!! Yes, it does seem a little thin but I think this is due to the backside being black. So it's not surprising that you can see the contrast through the white fabric of the front of the duvet (kind of like wearing white pants with black underwear - you'd see it no matter how good the fabric is). I put my white duvet in and there is nothing thin about the fabric. I will say that it's not the softest of fabrics but I base little on thread counts since I've had bedding that is a low thread count and feels like silk and high thread counts that feel like burlap. The fact the cover isn't silky isn't an issue since I like sheets on my bed and I wouldn't feel the cover on me. Regardless, these are inconsequential issues so I'm not sure why other reviewers made it sound like it was a horrible set. I highly recommend it and I am actually thinking of getting one for my mom. It truly is beautiful!!!
