That is exactly what I wanted to keep my kid from falling off the stairs and my dog out of my office. It came really quickly and it took about 30 min to put together. I love these gate, it's very sturdy. There is one con to it only. While it applies pressure to my walls, it tends to take the paint off and cause terrible scratches. It could be just the quality of the walls, so I will not take any stars away for that.

We have only had it for a few weeks but it was very easy to put up and it looks great in the house. My daughter and dog have tried to climb it with zero success and it is easy to use!

This is the easiest gate to open that we have in our home. The extra height is also wonderful. I don't have to bend down at all to open it, and it is the perfect height if you want to seperate very tall dogs from babies.
